Adrian Peterson Misses Practice With Illness
4 years agoDetroit Lions running back Adrian Peterson (illness) did not practice on Thursday. As far as we know, Peterson's illness isn't COVID-19-related, so he has a good chance of being active in Week 6 against the Jaguars. The Lions are coming off their bye week and AD had 11 carries for 36 yards and a touchdown in the Week 4 loss to the Saints. The veteran and future Hall of Famer is Detroit's most reliable option in the backfield, but rookie D'Andre Swift could eventually surpass the elder statesman on the depth chart. Peterson has also been targeted only six times in the passing game, making him more of a touchdown-dependent RB3/flex in non-PPR formats. He does get a good matchup this Sunday, though, as Jacksonville has allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to running backs.
