Aaron Nola Strikes Out 10 In Another Victory
7 years agoAs they struggle to remain in the hunt for the National League East, the Philadelphia Phillies were rewarded with another brilliant outing from their ace Aaron Nola on Tuesday night. Hosting the Colorado Rockies, the 25-year-old stymied the visitors, allowing one run on four hits across 6 2/3 innings, striking out 10 and walking none. The lone run allowed came in the seventh off a single that came when Nola had been pulled with runners on. The victory improved his record to 8-2, while his ERA now stands at an impressive 2.27 on the season. The Phillies would survive another near meltdown from the bullpen, winning 5-4.
