The San Francisco 49ers selected Michigan cornerback Ambry Thomas with the No. 102 overall pick in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft on Friday night. Thomas is projected to serve as a bump-and-run cornerback with starting upside for San Francisco. At just 6-foot, 183 pounds, he is not very physical, though, and will surely struggle against bigger, more physical pass-catchers in the NFL. While Thomas isn't all that agile, he makes up for it with impressive recovery speed. He opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 and tallied 38 tackles (three for loss), three interceptions, four pass breakups and two fumble recoveries in 13 starts for Michigan in 2019.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
