The San Francisco 49ers acquired defensive tackle Maliek Collins from the Houston Texans on Wednesday, according to a source. It's unclear what the Texans will receive in return. The 49ers have been making it a point to upgrade their entire defensive line this offseason, and Collins is the latest addition to the unit. The 28-year-old former third-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2016 out of Nebraska recorded a career-high 41 tackles (19 solo) and a career-high-tying five sacks while adding eight tackles for loss and 18 QB hits in 16 regular-season games for the Texans in 2023 in his third year with the team. With Arik Armstead expected to be released this offseason and with Javon Hargrave coming of a thumb injury late last year, Collins will give the Niners' defensive line some reinforcement heading into 2024.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
