The Warriors are a hard team to dislike. Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green all play the game with an unrivaled passion and precise execution that deservingly keeps their team in a winning mindset during some of the most insurmountable circumstances. Golden State's defense has never been their selling point, but it's remarkable that Curry, Thompson, and Green can create this aura of unbeatable offense around their team, and realistically, it's a phenomenon that starts on the defensive end. The Mavericks were heading into this series, albeit slightly fatigued from the series before, with a load of momentum and many people believing the Warriors wouldn't be able to keep-up unless Golden State played their brand of basketball. Game 1, the Warriors did, and not only did they smother Luka Doncic and excellently limit his production, but 25-point losses in the playoffs are mentally deflating and now the inconsistencies Dallas had already been dealing with, defense and non-Doncic production, have been magnified by the Warriors game planning. It's hard to see things changing, but it seems the only saving-grace the Mavericks will get is playing at home so their role-players can feel comfortable. That alone is a good reason to not bet on the Mavericks at all this series. Game 2 desperately requires some herculean effort from Doncic and it seems his supporting cast is left, mouth-agape, wondering what they could possibly do to help...

Single Stat NBA Totals

Reggie Bullock OVER 2.0 3-PT Made – Reggie Bullock scored 12 points on 12 shots yet was still on par with the rest of the Mavericks offense. He’s a key role-player with consistent usage because of his ability to create a spark almost out of nowhere, but there’s always the risk with these types of boom-or-bust players. As long as Dallas plays this Warriors defense, open shots will be rare, but Bullock being that secondary role-player means the shots will eventually trickle down to him much like they did in Game 1. Letting Reggie Bullock have a game won’t usually beat you as long as it’s limited to just that, and not, Bullock and Doncic had a game.

Andrew Wiggins OVER 23.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts – Since Golden State has decided to put Andrew Wiggins on Luka Doncic, it ultimately means he will get the ball on offense to recoil the pressure towards the Mavericks weakest point on defense. 20-points from Wiggins normally seems like a stretch, but only needing to score 23.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts (or 16.5 Points) in a game where he will get the ball and have a fair share of usage through his defense, a game after he just took 17 shots means any increase in efficiency and he hits this over in points alone. Golden State has sufficient offense, but it weirdly does rely on Wiggins being able to get to the rim and making the defense move to free up Curry and Thompson for even easier shots.

Draymond Green OVER 22.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts – The fact that Draymond Green missed out on a quadruple-double because he didn’t score 10 points lingers in my mind more than anything when it comes to betting on him. However, he’s too good of a player and too productive not to find a way to benefit. Assist, rebound, and combination bets are the way to go here, but with Doncic being slightly turnover prone and Golden State focusing-in on playing disruptive defense first and foremost, Green should be almost attacking the defensive stats. He’s protecting the rim and staying in passing lanes, so hoping they add a Fantasy Score bet before the game, that will be the line to attack Game 2.
