Iowa NASCAR Practice Speeds, Lap Averages, and Notes

Noah Gragson - NASCAR DFS Picks, Betting Picks, Daily Fantasy NASCAR

NASCAR Practice Speeds, Notes, and Lap Averages. Use these NASCAR stats and info to build lineups on DraftKings for the the 2024 Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol at Iowa Speedway.

The NASCAR Cup Series ran a single practice session at Iowa Speedway on Friday in preparation for the upcoming Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol on Sunday.

The 36-car field took to the brand new Iowa track, as part of the surface in the turns was recently re-paved. Unfortunately, we also saw a lot of tire issues during this practice sessions, which could pop up during the race on Sunday as well.

This will be the first-ever NASCAR Cup Series race at Iowa Speedway, which is a 7/8-mile oval short track that has 12 to 14 degrees of progressive banking in the turns.

Important Practice Notes

Christopher Bell - Bell was one of the fastest cars in practice on Friday but had a tire go down and the No. 20 Toyota hit the wall hard. The Joe Gibbs Racing team will bring out the backup car for Bell and he will have to drop to the rear at the start of the race.

Austin Cindric - Another car that had a tire go down which resulted in a hard hit with the wall was Austin Cindric's No. 2 Ford. Like Christopher Bell, Austin Cindric will also be driving a backup car on Sunday and will have to drop to the rear at the start of the race.

Ross Chastain - The No. 1 Chevrolet had a tire go down about 30 minutes into practice. Chastain was fast before that happened, though, and he ended up with the second-fastest 10-lap average in the session.
