Hitter Streamers for Fantasy Baseball Week 10

Connelly Doan analyzes hitter streamers and starts for Week 10. These bats are potential fantasy baseball waiver wire adds to stream for all leagues.

Welcome back to another installment of the hitting streamers column! This edition is for September 21 through September 27.

As will be the case every week, I will offer a couple of worthy streamers for each position (catcher, corner infield, middle infield, outfield) based on the number of games the players have for the upcoming week, favorable matchups, or injury replacements. You may not always see well-known names in this column; my goal is to identify hitters who I think have the best chance to do well for the following week, not just to identify names you may recognize who are available.

This column will highlight players rostered in roughly fewer than 50% of Yahoo leagues who could present as nice streaming options for the upcoming week. This will be the final full week of the fantasy season, potentially championship week for some fantasy players. As such, roster choices will be extremely important this week. Let's go find some players who can help seal the deal!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball draft tools and resources:

Behind the Plate

Jorge Alfaro (C, MIA) - 30% rostered

Jorge Alfaro has missed some playing time this season with injuries, but he has performed quite well recently in a hot Marlins lineup. Alfaro has hit .350 with two home runs and nine RBI over the last seven days This week the Marlins will face four games at the Braves (5.34 team ERA in September) and three games at the Yankees (3.69 team ERA in September). While the Yankees matchups are tough, the four Braves matchups are favorable. At this point, Alfaro is worth streaming even for the first half of the week paired with, say Sean Murphy for the second half of the week.

Also Consider: Sean Murphy (C, OAK) 29% rostered

At the Corners

Jared Walsh (1B,LAAF) - 38% rostered

Admittedly, this stream suggestion is based on a relatively small sample size. That being said, Jared Walsh has been on an absolute tear lately. The 27-year-old has hit an insane .467 with five HR and 13 RBI over the last seven days. These numbers obviously aren't sustainable, and his matchups this week are less than ideal (one game against the Rangers, two at the Padres, three at the Dodgers), but he has been hitting so well lately that it's hard to resist. This would be a risky stream, but could pay huge dividends for the final full week.

Nate Lowe (1B, TB) - 12% rostered

Nate Lowe has not been with the Rays all that long, but he has been contributing, batting .350 with three HR, eight RBI, and a stolen base over the last seven days. The Rays have hit well all season long and get great matchups this week with three games at the Mets (4.94 team ERA in September) and three against the Phillies (4.94 team ERA in September). Lowe has not been as hot as Walsh recently, but is a much safer streaming option for this week.

Also Consider: Alec Bohm (3B, PHI) 37% rostered, Maikel Franco (3B, KC) 22% rostered

Up the Middle

Chris Taylor (2B/SS/OF, LAD) - 52% rostered

I wrote about Chris Taylor last week and he is now just over 50% rostered, but he is such a good streaming option and is still pretty available. Taylor came through last week, hitting .333 with three HR and six RBI over the last seven days. The Dodgers get six matchups this week, all at home. Three games are against a relatively tough A's rotation and three against a favorable Angels rotation. With the Dodgers playing so well lately, Taylor is certainly worth a stream for the final full week.

Tommy La Stella (1B/2B/3B, OAK) - 43% rostered

Once again, Tommy La Stella has been a valuable fantasy asset this season, hitting well with multi-position eligibility. He hasn't hit eye-poppingly well lately, but has provided a solid .313 batting average with one HR and four RBI over the last seven games. The A's face the Dodgers for three games on the road, which is not great, but they then get four games against the Mariners. For fantasy managers who can afford the roster spot, La Stella is a nice streaming option for the back half of the week.

Also Consider: Asdrubal Cabrera (1B/2B/3B, WSH) 16% rostered, Miguel Rojas (SS, MIA) 10% rostered

In the Outfield

Clint Frazier (OF, NYY) - 36% rostered

There has never been a doubt that Clint Frazier could be a solid fantasy contributor, but limited playing time has always been his downfall. He has been seeing regular playing time lately and has made the most of it, batting .350 with two HR and six RBI over the last seven days. The Yankees always have a dangerous lineup and should continue to thrive this week with matchups against the Blue Jays (6.38 team ERA in September) and Marlins (5.10 team ERA in September). All in all, Frazier is a great streaming option this week.

Ryan Braun (OF, BAL) - 47% rostered

This one is a fun blast from the past. Ryan Braun is no longer the player he once was, but he has been hitting like his old self lately, batting .278 with three HR and nine RBI over the last seven days. The Brewers get eight games this week, and while they aren't the best matchups (three at Reds, four against Cardinals), the number of games makes Braun a steaming option to consider.

Also Consider: Brian Anderson (3B/OF, MIA) 30% rostered, Kole Calhoun (OF, ARI) 20% rostered, Brandon Nimmo (OF, NYM) 19% rostered
