Dallas Goedert Injury Update

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert (forearm) put in a full practice on Wednesday and appears on track to make his return for a big divisional contest in Week 14 against the rival Dallas Cowboys. Tight end Grant Calcaterra (ankle) was also a full-go, while Jack Stoll (knee) was limited. Goedert hasn't played since fracturing his right forearm in Week 9, but the 28-year-old sounds fully ready to return as a big part of Philly's passing game this weekend.

There's a chance his snaps could be limited in his first game back, but it's hard to recommend sitting one of the best tight ends in the game in one of the most explosive offenses in football. Stoll has been on the field more the last three games with Goedert out, but it's only amounted to two catches on four targets for 17 yards.

Darren Waller Injury Update

New York Giants tight end Darren Waller (hamstring) said he's been running routes and that his hamstring is feeling good. He expects to return to practice next week and is hoping he can play against the New Orleans Saints in Week 15 if all goes well in his return to the field. Waller has been hurt by a nagging hamstring injury in his first year in the Big Apple and was put on injured reserve after aggravating his hammy in Week 8.

Although quarterback Daniel Jones (knee) is done for the year, Waller still has a shot to return to help fantasy managers in the playoffs as a big-bodied target for either rookie quarterback Tommy Devito or Tyrod Taylor down the stretch. Daniel Bellinger has had a bigger role with Waller sidelined, but he hasn't made a fantasy impact at all. Pick Waller up now if he's available on your league's waiver wire.

Taysom Hill Injury Update

New Orleans Saints tight end/quarterback Taysom Hill (foot, hand) is dealing with multiple injuries this week and wasn't able to practice with the rest of the team on Wednesday. Hill is now in danger of missing the Week 14 contest against the Carolina Panthers unless he can get back on the practice field in the next two days. The 33-year-old Swiss Army knife in the Saints offense has had a wide range of outcomes in a hybrid role in 2023, making him an infuriating fantasy asset.

He saw a season-high 13 carries for 59 yards and a touchdown in last week's loss to the Detroit Lions, also catching two passes for 15 yards. Hill saw nine carries for 75 yards in the first meeting with Carolina in Week 2. He's seen most of his work as a rusher, with four of his five TDs on the year coming on the ground. If Hill is unable to play this weekend, it will most likely just mean an even bigger workload for running back Alvin Kamara.

Hayden Hurst Injury Update

Jerry Hurst, the father of Carolina Panthers tight end Hayden Hurst (concussion), said that his son has been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Amnesia by an independent neurologist from the hit he took against the Chicago Bears back on Nov. 9. "Slow recovery, don't know when he'll be back," Jerry Hurst said. It helps explain why Hurst has been out for each of the Panthers' last three games. However, he returned to a limited practice on Wednesday and could have a chance to be cleared from the league's concussion protocol in order to suit up in Week 14 against the New Orleans Saints.

It's a situation the Panthers will definitely not take lightly, most likely choosing to err on the side of caution. Carolina's tight ends aren't fantasy relevant, and Hurst has only 18 receptions on 32 targets this year for 184 yards and one touchdown in nine games played.

Dalton Schultz Injury Update

Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz (hamstring) returned to the practice field on Wednesday after missing the Week 13 win over the Denver Broncos with a hamstring ailment. Schultz was limited on Wednesday, but the fact he's practicing at all this early in the week is a good sign that he can return to face the New York Jets on the road in Week 14 this Sunday.

The 27-year-old has been a boom-or-bust fantasy tight end this year, but perhaps he'll be a more stable target for rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud down the stretch now that rookie receiver Tank Dell (leg) is out for the rest of the season. Schultz will be back on the TE1 map in fantasy this weekend if he gets the green light to play.

Dawson Knox, Dalton Kincaid Injury Update

Buffalo Bills tight ends Dawson Knox (wrist) and rookie Dalton Kincaid (thumb) were both listed as full practice participants on Wednesday. Knox remains on injured reserve and hasn't suited up since Week 7, but he's back at practice now and could be officially activated from IR before this Sunday's big game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14. This isn't what Kincaid's fantasy managers want to hear, as the first-rounder has been a TE1 with Knox sidelined as one of quarterback Josh Allen's favorite targets outside of receiver Stefon Diggs.

Kincaid will likely continue to be a big part of the Bills' offense, but the impending return of Knox is bound to take some valuable targets away from the impressive rookie. Unless Kincaid gets hurt, Knox has no business being in starting lineups as a TE1 the rest of 2023.

Juwan Johnson Injury Update

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (quadriceps) was limited in Wednesday's practice due to a quadriceps injury. Johnson played a season-low 57 percent of the offensive snaps in the Week 13 loss to the Detroit Lions and couldn't haul in any of his three targets. His first target early in Sunday's game clanked off his hands and to a Lions defender for an interception. Taysom Hill (foot, hand) is also injured and could be in danger of sitting out this weekend's game against the Carolina Panthers.

It could lead to more work for Foster Moreau and veteran Jimmy Graham, who caught his second touchdown of the year in Week 13. When healthy, Johnson hasn't been much more than a low-upside TE2 streamer, as he's caught 18 of his 32 targets for 142 yards and one touchdown on the year.

Tyler Higbee Injury Update

Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (neck) did not practice on Wednesday as his team began gearing up to take on the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14. Higbee left his Week 13 game to get checked for a concussion, although he was cleared. It turns out that Higbee suffered a stinger in his neck, which puts his Week 14 status in jeopardy.

Higbee getting upgraded to a limited or full practice by Friday would be a good sign heading into the weekend. If he ends up missing the game, Brycen HopkinsHunter Long, and Davis Allen would form a committee at the position for the Rams against the Ravens.

Tyler Conklin Injury Update

New York Jets tight end Tyler Conklin (hamstring) was limited in practice on Wednesday as the team gears up to take on the Houston Texans in Week 14. Conklin appeared to emerge from Week 13's loss to the Atlanta Falcons without any injuries but he is now dealing with a hamstring issue as the Jets open up their week of practice.

Conklin getting upgraded to a full practice by Friday would be a good sign for him heading into the weekend. The Jets would turn to Jeremy Ruckert as their No. 1 TE in Week 14 if Conklin ends up not being able to play. Stay tuned.
