Week 12 Fantasy Football FLEX Outlooks and Rankings Analysis

A new feature has been added to our weekly fantasy football rankings article. Below, you will find our fantasy football outlooks for key options in Week 12, which gives readers a matchup preview of that player and advice on whether to start or avoid for the upcoming week. We provide outlooks for all 32 NFL teams, which can be found on our player profile pages and our fantasy football news desk.

Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, New England Patriots
Week 12 FLEX PPR Rank: 33

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson should be started in most fantasy leagues ahead of Sunday's game against the New York Giants. With the Patriots struggling to get production out of the quarterback position, they could turn to a run-heavy approach in this clash with a fellow eight-loss team.

The Giants have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points per game (15.7 in PPR) to running backs this season and the third-most rushing touchdowns per game (1.0). Even as he loses some touches to Ezekiel Elliott, Stevenson will remain the Patriots' No. 1 running back and should handle a heavy workload in Week 12. He's a solid fantasy RB2 for the time being.

George Pickens, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
Week 12 FLEX PPR Rank: 85

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens (shin) was a full participant in practice on Friday and won't carry an injury designation into Sunday's Week 12 game against the division-rival Cincinnati Bengals. Pickens didn't practice on Wednesday and was limited for Thursday's session. He will be available this weekend and could see more targets from quarterback Kenny Pickett after the team fired offensive coordinator Matt Canada earlier in the week.

It probably won't change the fact that the 22-year-old is a boom/bust commodity in fantasy lineups, though, as the Steelers offense is unlikely to suddenly become a powerhouse. Pickens has scored three times in his second NFL season and has three 100-yard games, but he also hasn't topped 50 receiving yards or four catches in a game since Week 7.

Drake London, WR, Atlanta Falcons
Week 12 FLEX PPR Rank: 75

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London has been mostly solid throughout his first nine games this season. The Falcons continue to make him a focal point in the offense. London has seen seven or more targets in six of the last seven games he has played in. It's worth noting that the Falcons are returning to Desmond Ridder at quarterback this week.

It remains to be seen how that will impact the fantasy value of London. Fantasy managers shouldn't be too worried about the chemistry between these two. However, the New Orleans Saints have a tough defense that has defended well against the passing attack. That being said, London should be considered a low-end WR2 for this upcoming Week 12 matchup.

David Njoku, TE, Cleveland Browns
Week 12 FLEX PPR Rank: 88

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku set a season-high with 15 targets in a Week 11 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Njoku has quickly emerged as rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson's favorite target as he's had 22 passes thrown his way in DTR's two starts this season. The explosive tight end will look to keep it going in Week 12's road game against a Denver Broncos defense that allows the most fantasy points per game to the position in 2023.

Add in the fact that Denver has been tough on enemy wide receivers, and it looks like plenty of targets will get funneled toward Njoku on Sunday. Njoku missed practice on Wednesday with a "not injury related-knee, rest" tag but was upgraded to limited on Thursday and a full session on Friday, so he is likely to suit up against Denver. Fantasy managers can lock Njoku in as a top-10 fantasy option in Week 12.

Alexander Mattison, RB, Minnesota Vikings
Week 12 FLEX PPR Rank: 69

Minnesota Vikings running back Alexander Mattison will look to bounce back in Week 12 after a lackluster performance last week where he carried the ball 18 times for 81 yards and lost a fumble against the Broncos. The Boise State product will go against a Bears defense that has allowed just 875 yards and 3.4 yards per carry this season, so the 25-year-old looks like a touchdown-dependent FLEX option at best this week.

Mattison hasn't been short of volume in favorable game scripts this season, so he figures to get his fair share of opportunity in what should be a neutral script for the Minnesota offense. However, Ty Chandler was able to outproduce Mattison last week on just 14 touches, so fantasy managers should consider the possibility that Mattison could lose some work to his explosive backfield mate in this one.
