FanDuel MMA DFS Lineup Picks: Poirier vs. Hooker - UFC on ESPN 12

Dennis' FanDuel DFS lineup picks for UFC on ESPN 12: Poirier vs. Hooker. Read his MMA DFS analysis, and build winning daily fantasy MMA lineups.

The UFC returns once again to the Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, for another ESPN card. Headlined by former interim Lightweight Champion, Dustin Poirier, taking on Dan Hooker, this is the last event before the promotion travels overseas to Abu Dhabi's Yas (Fight) Island.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy MMA lineup picks for FanDuel for UFC on ESPN 12 on 6/27/2020. You can check out our DraftKings MMA DFS picks as well. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced fighters and value picks on FanDuel.

UFC on ESPN 12 Middleweight - MMA DFS Lineup Picks

Brendan Allen, $18 - Kyle Daukaus

Ian Heinisch, the No. 13 ranked fighter in the middleweight division, was initially slotted as Allen's opponent but was forced to withdraw, opening the door for Kyle Daukaus to enter the fold. Daukaus will be making his UFC debut and sports a perfect 9-0 professional record heading into this one. He is a skilled ground technician and has won eight of those fights via submission. Though Allen is the favorite, an upset wouldn't be a surprise.

On the other hand, Allen will be fired up and ready to go after being deprived of an opportunity to go toe-to-toe with a ranked competitor. While the fight with "The Hurricane" will still likely happen, Allen may have to wait until the end of the year before he can get his hands on him. In the meantime, he has another opportunity to showcase his skills and walk away with a win against a fighter who hasn't competed on the big stage. The 24-year-old is well-rounded and can put an end to things in a variety of ways.

Daukaus will likely look to take this one to the mat, and rightfully so. Allen isn't a slouch there either, nonetheless, and will surely be able to hang. "All In" does possess a takedown defense of 75 percent, so it is also feasible that he opts to keep the fight vertical. Regardless, look for the Roufusport disciple to pull off the win on Saturday night.

UFC on ESPN 12 Catchweight - MMA DFS Lineup Picks

Sean Woodson, $18 - vs. Julian Erosa

Due to visa issues, Kyle Nelson will be unable to compete on Saturday night, and instead, Woodson will now square off with Julian Erosa. Erosa has experience fighting in the octagon but didn't fare well toward the end of his last tenure with the organization by losing his last three fights, with two of them coming by way of knockout.

Woodson has fought just once inside the octagon but is undefeated throughout his professional career. The 28-year-old is nine months removed from his last bout in the promotion, which saw him defeat Kyle Bochniak via decision. While four of his seven career fights have ended by decision, Erosa has a shaky history and is vulnerable on his feet, which could lead to a decisive victory for "The Sniper" on Saturday night.

UFC on ESPN 12 Welterweight - MMA DFS Lineup Picks

Takashi Sato, $16 - vs. Jason Witt

In another removal, Sato's original opponent, Ramiz Brahimaj, will no longer fight after one of his cornermen tested positive for COVID-19. In his stead, Jason Witt will make his debut with the organization.

Witt has had stops throughout several regional promotions throughout his career. A wrestler by trade, he will undoubtedly look to take Sato down. Whether or not he can keep him there, nonetheless, is a different story. His conditioning has been an issue over the years, so he may not be in the best shape, especially since he is taking this fight on short notice.

Sato is 1-1 with the organization and 15-3 overall. He is looking to rebound after getting choked out by Belal Muhammad back at UFC 242. He is nasty on his feet and has won nine of his bouts via TKO. With Witt's vulnerability in that area, Sato may end this one by ref stoppage.

Also Consider: Dustin Poirier ($22), Mike Perry ($20), Maurice Greene ($19), Luis Pena ($19), Brendan Allen ($18), Philipe Lins ($15), Kay Hansen ($15),  Youssef Zalal ($12), Mickey Gall ($12)
