DraftKings USFL DFS Lineup Picks for Week 8: Daily Fantasy Football Advice

USFL DFS lineup picks draftkings daily fantasy football

Justin Carter's top USFL DFS lineup picks for DraftKings for the eighth week of the 2022 USFL season. These Week 8 picks vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks.

Week 8 of the USFL season is here. This is one of two weeks this season where the teams won't be at Protective Stadium in Birmingham, with the teams instead heading to a different part of the city to play at Legion Field. With just 10 weeks in the USFL season, the playoff battle is really heating up.

In this article I will be providing you with daily fantasy football USFL DFS picks on DraftKings for Week 8 of the USFL season. These lineups can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks.

This slate locks on 6/3/2022 at 8:00 p.m. ET. If you have any questions, you can follow me on Twitter: @juscarts

USFL Quarterback DFS Picks

Jordan Ta'amu (Tampa Bay Bandits) - vs Houston ($11,200)

All signs point to Ta'amu this week. The Gamblers defense is the only one in the USFL to allow over 200 passing yards per game. Ta'amu has thrown for 200 or more yards in three consecutive starts and has thrown 77 passes in the past two weeks. His numbers last week look bad because he threw three picks, but as long as the volume is still there, I'll keep riding with Ta'amu, especially in a very plus matchup in Week 8.

Kenji Bahar (Houston Gamblers) - vs Tampa Bay ($6,100)

With Clayton Thorson exiting last week, Bahar stepped in and went 10-for-13 for 101 yards with a touchdown and a pick. He's a risky play because we just don't know a ton about him and he didn't add anything on the ground last week, but getting a starting QB for $6,100 is a pretty good deal and makes lineup building much easier, so if you want to take a big risk at QB and hope for a couple touchdown passes, don't be afraid of Bahar. Tampa allows the third-most passing yards per game.

USFL Running Back DFS Picks

Bo Scarbrough (Birmingham Stallions) - vs New Orleans ($7,000)

While virtually all of the league's high-usage backs saw less action last week, Scarbrough saw 27 carries. He averaged just 3.7 yards per carry, but the volume still allowed him to run for 100 yards for the second week in a row. New Orleans is solid against the run, but in a league where so much is hard to predict, I think we have to lean on Scarbrough because of the projected volume.

Reggie Corbin (Michigan Panthers) - vs Philadelphia ($6,300)

Speaking of volume, Corbin has 12 or more carries in five consecutive games. Three of those have resulted in 100-plus yards, including a 154-yard showing back in Week 4. Corbin's lack of involvement in the passing game lowers his ceiling, but he's someone who can run for a ton of yards. It's been a few weeks since he found the end zone, but if the volume keeps up, he'll get another touchdown soon. Maybe as soon as this week against a Philly team that allows 163.0 rushing yards per game.

USFL Wide Receiver/Tight End DFS Picks

Osirus Mitchell (Birmingham Stallions) - vs New Orleans ($9,500)

Two good receivers in Birmingham with  Mitchell and the slightly pricier Vic Bolden Jr. ($10,800). Mitchell has 20 targets over the past three games, with two 50-plus yard receiving games and a touchdown in that span. He's been just as good as Bolden lately and comes at a $1,300 discount. Really strong play.

Kavontae Turpin (New Jersey Generals) - vs Pittsburgh ($8,600)

The volume wasn't quite there for Turpin this week, as his four targets were his fewest since Week 2. But he made the most of those targets, scoring his third touchdown in the last two weeks. Turpin has developed into one of the USFL's best receivers. He also had four carries and has at least two carries in each game, with one rushing touchdown. Is Turpin the Deebo Samuel of the USFL? 👀

Jordan Suell (Philadelphia Stars) - vs Michigan ($7,700)

Suell had seven targets last week, catching all of them for 72 yards and a touchdown. His catchless Week 6 is looking more like an anomaly, as he had nine targets the week before that and seven the week after. The Stars offense isn't doing great right now, but Suell has a ton of upside as Philly's No. 1 receiving threat.

John Franklin III (Tampa Bay Bandits) - vs Houston ($4,300)

If I'm playing Ta'amu, I like the idea of stacking him with someone. Franklin hasn't had the volume, but he's been the end zone target for Ta'amu, with two catches and two touchdowns over the last two games. And it's not the volume isn't there, as he's been targeted 10 times in that span. He just happens to only be reeling in the touchdowns.

USFL D/ST DFS Picks

New Jersey Generals - vs Pittsburgh ($5,500)

Another week of playing the team that faces Pittsburgh. Last week, the Stallions let us down a little, not picking off the Maulers at all. But the Generals are coming off of a three-pick, three-sack game last week and now get to play a Pittsburgh offense that hasn't been good. I'm expecting the Generals defense to be all over Pittsburgh in this one. Pay up for this defense in DFS.
