Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox - Yesterday's Recap

Ellis Canady reviews last night's MLB box scores (9/15) and provides fun opinions on a variety of topics to help fantasy baseball owners with their lineups.

Welcome to the Monday, September 16th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.

Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.

In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on September 16th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings

  • AT EASE, Harrison Bader. All this goodness (10HR/10SB) & your 2020 stock will rise. Let’s keep it low-low.
  • Eddie Rosario goes BANGARANG! Two for 31.
  • Max Fried, just like I like my okra. 2.1IP, 5ER.
  • Don’t rush on our account, Rhys Hoskins (28). We figured you had 30 taters in the bag.
  • Keep puttin’ in that work, Brandon (Workman). 14 saves looks good on you.
  • Christian Vazquez has been money well found. 21HR, .273AVG.
  • Aaron Judge (23HR) working feverishly to regain the title: Pilot of Potency.
  • Randal Grichuk wallops it two times, times. (28).
  • Jonathan Villar will have managers drooling at 2020 draft tables. 21HR/35SB/.276AVG.
  • Miguel Sano has reached undervalued status. 29HR in 340 at-bats. .241AVG is under the value we want.
  • Shane Bieber, straighten up. You’ve got the Phillies & Nats next.
  • My man! Tommy Edman w/second-straight homer game. 9HR, 12SB, .282.
  • You thought 10HR/30SB was a possibility. We’ll be lucky to get 10 or 20 from Lorenzo Cain.
  • Munch on that Dunkin Donuts maple bacon breakfast croissant combo meal all you want, Kyle Tucker (2HR/4SB). Maybe brass is listening. Psst, it’s not really a combo meal.
  • "Your power isn’t real. Your power isn’t real." POW! Yuli Gurriel w/28 strokes of defiance.
  • The seal has been broken. Kris Bryant double-taps his way above average. 31 dingers.
  • How many ‘Weak AVG, Peak Power’ guys are there? Kyle Schwarber is on the list. 36HR, .235AVG.
  • Sean Manaea back w/authority. Second W.
  • Marcus Semien will be hidden no longer. 30HR.
  • Sumo-Squat is great leg builder. Matt Chapman knows. Oh, 34 dingers too.
  • Oh boy! Confusion for 2020. Does Ryan McMahon own the job? 22HR, .257AVG.
  • Wil Myers. 1st Half: 12HR, .217AVG. 2nd Half: 6HR, .296AVG. Take your pick.
  • Still 17% on the Cal Quantrill underwater train. The leaks cannot be contained.
  • Rojas w/another SB(eight). I said before. Miguel Rojas.
  • Mauricio Dubon comes in bright-eyed, which is helping. 3HR, .300AVG last 15 games.
  • No Trout, Perfect. Start all Ryan Yarbrough’s across the world. Tick. Tick. BOOM! 5IP, 6ER. {Dumbfounded look still on my face}
  • Albert Pujols loves him a hearty BigWhoppMac combo meal. Yes, it makes sense if we are combining things that shouldn’t go together. 23HR/2SB.
  • Austin Meadows puts another cowhide out to pasture, just like my hopes of getting him in 2020.
  • It’s the guy you’re not looking out for that is most deadly. Eugenio Suarez does the meringue right to the front of the line. 47 shots of raw power.
  • Trevor Bauer looking superb. 8IP, 1ER, 9K.
  • We want power, Aristides Aquino gives fourth SB. Ok.
  • Justus Sheffield, just need you to start vs. CWS. Expecting a solid outing. Wait for it….BOOM! Yes, 4.1IP, 5ER. I should have known.
  • Kyle Lewis w/four HR in six games. YES! Drive that stock skywards.
  • Yoan Moncada, I'm proud to issue you this shiny 20HR/10SB credit card. No interest, just expectations.
  • Walker Buehler, I don’t want you staying out past 71 pitches. You have playoffs in the future.
  • Zack Wheeler. Confidence. 4.09ERA. 3.50FIP.
  • Doesn’t 2.1 mean an upgrade or something?:
  • Have a great Monday. If it is anniversary time, get some flowers. If it's just you, treat yourself. Enjoy life.
  • No Fear, Just Fantasy.
