Recent Update

4/11:With starting catcher Sandy Leon getting a day of rest, Christian Vazquez seized his opportunity Tuesday night. In his second start of the year, the backup catcher went 4-for-4, including a double and a triple. His two runs, two RBI and a stolen base showed he could get it done in all areas. He has not been an effective offensive player in the past, but if he continues to play like he did on Tuesday, he may earn more at-bats. He should not be rostered unless he starts getting regular playing time, though.--Jared T - RotoBaller

  • @PeteAbe: Where Vazquez is set up doesn’t indicate Barnes was trying to go above his hands, as Farrell suggested
  • @PeteAbe: #RedSox: Bogaerts SS, Benintendi LF, Betts RF, Ramirez DH, Moreland 1B, Bradley CF, Vazquez C, Sandoval 3B, Hernandez 2B and Rodriguez RHP.
  • @PeteAbe: Risky tag by Vazquez but he’s safe at third. Risk not worth the reward there
  • @IanMBrowne: Lineup tonight in Baltimore. Pedroia,Benintendi, Betts, Moreland, Ramirez, Bradley, Sandoval, Vazquez, Hernandez SS with Pomeranz SP
  • @PeteAbe: at Balt: Pedroia 2B, Benintendi LF, Betts RF, Moreland 1B, Ramirez DH, Bradley Jr. CF, Sandoval 3B, Vázquez C, Hernandez SS, Pomeranz LHP
  • @PeteAbe: #RedSox 4-1 when Christian Vazquez catches. That will be interesting to keep track of over time.
  • @IanMBrowne: After Pablo gets caught stealing on a failed hit and run, Vazquez then punches the next pitch into center for a single.
  • @PeteAbe: Farrell loves the hit-and-run with Vazquez up. Sandoval being on the run side of that mix didn’t work out so well.
  • @PeteAbe: #RedSox at Tor: Bogaerts SS, Benintendi CF, Betts RF, Ramirez DH, Moreland 1B, Young LF, Sandoval 3B, Vazquez C, Hernandez 2B, Johnson LHP
