Houston Texans - NFL Betting Analysis

Heading into week 18, the Texans will look to get back in the win column, as they are coming off a 31-3 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Not only did Houston lose the game, but they also failed to cover the spread. Going into the game, the team was the 3.5-point underdog. Together, the two teams combined score remained below the over-under betting line of 43. The Texans were not able to make a comeback in last week's game, as they trailed Jacksonville by a score of 28-3 heading into the final quarter. Through 16 games, the Texans have an ATS record of 7-8-1. So far, they have an over-under record of 6-10. This week's betting total of 38.0 is lower than the line in their previous games.

As the Texans prepare to take on Indianapolis, they are ranked 31st in points per game at 16.1. Look for the team to put together a strong offensive performance vs. a Colts defense giving up 24.7 points per game. Even though Houston has a good matchup in the passing game, as the Colts are ranked 29th in passer rating allowed, we don't anticipate the team being able to take advantage. On the ground, our projections show that the Texans' offense will have its problems. Even though they have a decent matchup against Indianapolis, look for Houston to come up with fewer rush yards than their season average of 88.56.

Indianapolis Colts - NFL Betting Analysis

This week, the Colts will be looking to get back to winning ways, as they fell to the New York Giants by a score of 38-10 in week 17. With the loss, Indianapolis also failed to cover the spread, as they were 5.5 underdogs. By the end of the game, the teams combined for 48 points, surpassing the betting line of 38. The Colts were not able to make a comeback in last week's game, as they trailed New York by a score of 31-10 heading into the final quarter. Through 16 games, the Colts have an ATS record of 6-10. So far, they have an over-under record of 6-10. This week's betting total of 38.0 is lower than the line in their previous games.

Heading into this week's matchup, the Colts offense is averaging 16.1 points per game, placing them 30th in the NFL. Look for the team to put together a strong offensive performance vs a Texans defense ranked 26th in points allowed. Even though the Colts head into this week's game ranked 23rd in pass yards per game and have a tough defensive matchup, we project them to have an above-average performance in the passing game. On the ground, the Colts' are averaging 104.4 yards per game and are 30th in rush touchdowns.

Today's NFL Betting Pick - Texans vs. Colts

Houston comes into the game looking to continue their recent success over Houston, as they have a record of 4-0-1. The two teams have combined to average 39.6 points per game in their last 5 meetings. In this year's previous meeting between the two teams, the Texans and Colts played to a 20-20 tie. Even though the two teams ended in a tie, the Texans kept the game closer than expected, as Indianapolis was favored to win. Last year, the Colts dominated the season series, winning by scores of 31-0 and 31-3.

The Indianapolis Colts have performed well vs the spread in recent games, going 3-2-0. On average, the Texans have averaged 12.6 points per game in the past 5 head-to-head matchups, compared to Indianapolis at 27.0.

Across their previous 3 regular season games, the Texans have a straight-up record of just 1-2. In these games, they have gone just 2-1 vs the spread while posting an over-under mark of 1-2.

Although Houston has a straight-up record of 1-2 in their last 3 road games, they have not held up as well vs the spread going 2-1. The team averaged 19.0 points per game in these games.

Across their previous 3 regular season games, the Colts have a straight-up record of just 0-3. In these games, they have gone just 1-2 vs the spread while posting an over-under mark of 2-1.

Across the Colts' last 3 home games, the team averaged 12.0 points per game while allowing 20.3. Their record vs the spread in these contests was 1-2, while going 0-3 straight-up.

Recommended ATS Betting Pick: Colts -2.5

Recommended OU Betting Pick: Under 38.0
