Calvin Ridley's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 12 (2023). Our advice on whether you should start or sit Calvin Ridley for fantasy lineups.
BALLER MOVE: Start in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR2
ANALYSIS: Last week, Calvin Ridley had his best game since joining the Jacksonville Jaguars, catching seven passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns while also adding an 18-yard carry as well.
It was the third time this season that Ridley's gone over 100 yards in a game. So, now what? Ridley doubled his touchdown total in one game, which really speaks more to his season-long struggle to find the end zone than it does to anything really coming from that performance, right?
This week, he faces a Houston Texans defense that held him to three catches for 40 yards earlier this season. This isn't to say Ridley isn't worth starting in most formats, because he's a solid fantasy WR2 play because of his role and his upside. He has 22 targets combined over the past three games.
It's just that fantasy managers shouldn't necessarily expect a repeat of last week's performance. Ridley will likely put up solid numbers, but with Christian Kirk and Zay Jones on the field as well, he's unlikely to consistently post the kind of WR1 numbers we saw last week.
Start Ridley in 12-team leagues, but temper your expectations.
