Alec Pierce fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 3 (2024). Should you start or sit Alec Pierce for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 14+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR4
ANALYSIS: Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce has gotten off to a strong start to the season, serving as a top downfield threat for quarterback Anthony Richardson. Through two games, Pierce has eight catches for 181 yards and two touchdowns.
The more I watch Colts WR Alec Pierce the more I realize we weren’t able to properly evaluate this guy playing with noodle armed QBs for two years. With Richardson’s bazooka, Pierce’s deep speed is finally unlocked. pic.twitter.com/IqNannpauC

Alas, the good times are threatened this week as the Colts get second-year wide receiver Josh Downs back in the fold after he missed the first two games of the season. Adding another mouth to a fairly unpredictable offense definitely drops the fantasy floor for Pierce down a bit.
Fantasy managers should view Pierce as a low-end WR4 with upside this weekend against the Bears. Downs returning could certainly relegate Pierce to the fantasy graveyard, but his long-range connection with Richardson will continue to provide him a path toward fantasy relevance. It just takes one 50-yard bomb, right?
