Buffalo Sabres goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen will get his first taste of action this season against Anaheim on Tuesday. The 22-year-old will enter the matchup with a 1-3-0 career record. Luukkonen has played in the AHL this season, putting together a 6-6-0 record with a 3.42 goals-against average, a .888 save percentage and one shutout. He's getting a look because Buffalo is desperate for some good goaltending. Top choices Craig Anderson (upper body) and Dustin Tokarski (COVID-19 protocols) are both on the shelf and Aaron Dell has taken one loss after another.
