New York Mets right-hander J.T. Ginn has been promoted from Single-A St. Lucie to High-A Brooklyn and will make his debut with Brooklyn on Saturday. The team's No. 2 pitching prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, went 2-1 with a 2.56 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, 35 strikeouts and 10 walks in 38 2/3 innings spanning eight starts with St. Lucie before the promotion. The 22-year-old was a second-round pick in last year's draft and has already undergone Tommy John surgery, so it's nice to see that he's been sharp so far in 2021. Ginn has a low- to mid-90s fastball with late sink and life, and he complements it with a mid-80s slider and developing changeup. The Mets will obviously want to see more, but Ginn has the upside of a mid-rotation starter that can pound the strike zone.--Keith HernandezRead More News
