Luis Severino Could Face Hitters This Weekend
Luis Severino (groin, elbow) tossed in the bullpen on Wednesday and could face hitters as soon as this weekend. Severino has been out for over three weeks with a groin injury that he suffered during a rehab start, and he's also working his way back from Tommy John surgery. It's a positive sign that the right-hander is throwing again, but the Yankees will bring him along slowly, and he still has a ways to go. However, fantasy managers could have the 27-year-old two-time All-Star back at some point in August, barring anymore setbacks. Severino is certainly worth stashing everywhere after he went 19-8 with a 3.39 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 10.3 K/9 in 191 1/3 innings spanning 32 starts back in 2018.
