Ross Stripling Pitches Seven Shutout Innings Monday
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays pitcher Ross Stripling worked seven scoreless innings following Trent Thornton's one-inning start as the club fell to the Rays in extras on Monday. Thornton was a late announcement as the opener as he went on to allow five unearned runs after an inning, so Stripling came in a little earlier than expected in the top of the second. It didn't effect him much since he held the Rays off the board with seven strikeouts and just two hits and two walks allowed on 76 pitches. It's notable that he was pitching out of the stretch instead of the windup, which may be the contributing factor for his most successful outing of the season. Until we see more out of Stripling, he shouldn't be starting on a fantasy roster despite a plus matchup upcoming for him versus Cleveland in five days.
