Steelers wide receiver (WR) Chase Claypool is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 6 of the 2020 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: That's it, that's all I needed to watch to confirm the suspicions: Chase Claypool is the freaking real deal. Let me throw some numbers around. This is the 2020 NFL season, and through five weeks Chase Claypool is 1) the only WR with 4 TDs in a single game (3 receiving, 1 rushing), 2) the only WR to break the 42-PPR-point barrier, 3) one of 16 WRs to average 15+ yards per reception while catching 7+ passes in a single game... and the first Steelers rookie to score 4 TDs in a game (and first overall since Doug Martin in 2012)!!! Insane in the brain, is what I mean.
Is Claypool the no. 1 WR in Pittsburgh? No (yet). Is Claypool going to reach 42 PPR points every week? Far from it (I guess). Is Claypool an absolute WW pickup steal at this point in the season? You bet (he is, yes)!
After playing just 19 and 24 snaps to kick the season off, Claypool then appeared on 61 (W3) and 52 (W5). His usage and presence on the field have only gone up on a weekly basis, and this past Sunday it was clear that Pittsburgh had actually schemed plays precisely for him. Sure, he took advantage of Diontae Johnson's injury, but that's not reason enough to think this game was a fluke.
Claypool already scored 17.8 PPR points back in Week 2, is good enough at catching the ball (13 of 20 receptions), and has scored 5 TDs over four games, one of them rushing this past Sunday.
Don't overthink this decision, be a simple man, find Claypool in your WW, and just grab him while you can. This kid is a WR3/FLEX player weekly at the very least, and his upside is great as he's already shown in a couple of games. Must-add, no matter the league, format, etc.
