Green Bay Packers rookie inside linebacker Kamal Martin (knee), who was in the mix to start in Week 1, is undergoing knee surgery and is expected to miss several weeks, according to sources. Martin will likely be out six to eight weeks, making him a candidate to return from Injured Reserve. Oren Burks is also injured for the Packers at the position, so Ty Summers, a seventh-round pick last year, could see a big early season opportunity in the middle of Green Bay's defense. Martin, 22, should have a chance to make an impact later in the season, but a big chunk of his rookie season is now wiped out.--Keith HernandezRead More News
