Kyle Freeland Expected To Return This Month
Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland is expected to rejoin the team's rotation sometime this month, in the opinion of The Athletic's Nick Groke. The left-hander last pitched in the big leagues on May 30 and was sent down after struggling to the tune of a 7.13 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, 49 strikeouts and 25 walks over 59 1/3 innings in 12 starts for Colorado. There's hope for a rebound, though, especially after he gave up only one run while striking out nine in his latest outing for Triple-A Albuquerque. Freeland was 17-7 with a 2.85 ERA in 2018, so there's certainly rebound potential. However, fantasy owners in mixed leagues should take a wait-and-see approach when he does return to the rotation.
