Scott Oberg Stumbles In Save Opportunity

Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Scott Oberg fumbled his first chance to lock down a game while closer Wade Davis is on the Injured List. Brought into a hairy situation on Sunday, Oberg quickly got the second out of the eighth inning while an inherited runner bided his time on second base. However, with two outs, Oberg walked Jonathan Villar and allowed Trey Mancini to drill a two-run triple that left Oberg on the hook for the loss. Oberg lucked out though. A strikeout to end the eighth and a clean ninth inning allowed his offense to stage a rally in the bottom of the ninth and give Oberg the win with a walk-off sacrifice fly. It was Oberg's first earned run in three weeks, so he should still be solid, but it remains to be seen whether he can handle the ninth-inning pressure.
