Frank Schwindel Shows Off In Spring Finale
Frank Schwindel finally got the chance to show some of his versatility on Sunday as he caught two innings in the team's spring training finale. Schwindel was a catcher throughout college, but he hasn't caught in the minors in years. He looked solid in his debut though, even throwing out a runner. With the team having lost star catcher Salvador Perez for the season and Schwindel battling to find a way on to the roster, perhaps this little additional feature will be enough to earn him a spot. Schwindel hit 24 bombs and .286 in 510 at-bats at Triple-A Omaha last year, and he could be a serious power threat if he can find his way into regular playing time.
