Carolina Hurricanes left wing Micheal Ferland registered an assist with a minor penalty and he dished out a game-high eight hits across 14:11 of ice time over 20 shifts in Sunday's 2-1 overtime victory against the Montreal Canadiens. Ferland picked up his 21st assists, setting a new career high for assists, eclipsing the 20 apples he collected as a member of the Calgary Flames last season. After going scoreless in his first five games in March he has three assists over the past five outings, and two helpers in the past two games. Next up is a trip to Washington on Tuesday.--Daniel Dobish
