Calgary Flames goaltender Mike Smith allowed two goals on just 19 shots in Wednesday's 4-2 victory against the New York Islanders. The Flames defense was strong, and they gummed up the neutral zone all evening which didn't allow the Islanders to find much free ice to operate. This game was still 2-2 until 6:10 of the third period when Austin Czarnik struck for an even-strength goal from Mark Jankowski and Rasmus Andersson, and then Johnny Gaudreau added a power-play goal 29 seconds later to break the will of the Isles. Next up for the Flames will be a home date with Anaheim on Friday night.--Daniel Dobish
