Marlins Asking For Top Prospects In Drew Steckenrider Deal
Michael Chavis or Jason Groome for relief pitcher Drew Steckenrider. Steckenrider has pitched to a 3.38 ERA and a 51/20 K/BB ratio this season. Steckenrider is also under team control until 2023 through arbitration. It's clear that the Marlins expect a huge trade package for Steckenrider and perhaps another controllable reliever in Kyle Barraclough. This could also be Miami just not interested in Chavis/Groome as prospects. Regardless, if the Marlins are going to trade Steckenrider, it appears it's going to take one or more of a team's better prospects. Whether a club is willing to trade that much for Steckenrider is yet to be seen.
