For a player who has been incredibly inconsistent throughout his career, New York Mets starting pitcher Steven Matz has been surprisingly steady over his last two starts. At least, from an ERA perspective. In 11 total innings pitched against the Philadelphia Phillies and Colorado Rockies in his last two starts, Matz allowed only two earned runs. With eight hits, five walks, and only eight strikeouts over those two games, though, it would seem as though Matz may have been a benefactor of some good luck to have the bottom line look as good as it did. In order for Matz to earn his way back into the fantasy circle of trust, he’s going to need to increase his strikeouts.--John Smith
