Seattle Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano will be suspended for 80 games for violating the league's joint drug agreement for performance-enhancing drugs, according to a source. Along with the fact that Cano is on the disabled list with a fractured bone in his hand, this news essentially rules him out for the rest of the season. It's a tremendous blow to both the Mariners and fantasy owners, as Cano was still one of the more productive second basemen in baseball. You can pretty much get away with dropping him in redraft leagues at this point. In his absence, Gordon Beckham and Andrew Romine could split time at the keystone for the time being, but Seattle may want to look for outside help at the position for the rest of the season. Moving Dee Gordon to second is another option and may be the most likely in the long term. That'd be great for Gordon's fantasy owners in keeper leagues, as he'd retain second base eligibility heading into 2019.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
