DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (1/24/17): NBA DFS Advice

We have a six game slate tonight with some solid match ups across the board. There are a good amount of studs and value plays out there for you lineup construction. Look for some game stacks to capitalize on some bad defenses, so let's get into it.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/24/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on DraftKings. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @DFS_Tom.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Kyle Lowry - PG, vs SA ($8,800)

Lowry is in an interesting spot tonight vs the Spurs who are fifth best in the league when it comes to guarding point guards, only giving up 43 DraftKings points per game. News broke that DeMar DeRozan would be out for a few games with an injury, so this leaves an opening for Lowry to step up and carry more of the offense. Lowry's usage rate is 29.5% when DeRozan is off the court for the Raptors. This is a solid number and puts Lowry in a good spot for a ton of touches on offense. Lowry has been on a bit of a down trend recently, with three of his last four games below his season average of 43 points. But with that said, this is a spot where the Raptors need him more than ever to step us vs the Spurs.

Marcus Smart - PG/SG, @ WAS ($5,800)

With Avery Bradley still out with an injury, Smart has seen plenty of playing time, and is doing a decent job of capitalizing on it. He has played 32 minutes or more in three of his last four games and minutes equal value in the DFS world. For his price, Smart doesn't need to score a ton of points to hit value for you. This match up has an over under of 217 points, so it should be fast paced and plenty of offense looks to go around. Smart is in a good spot to take advantage of this, as the Wizards defense will be focusing in on the red hot Isaiah Thomas.

George Hill - PG, @ DEN ($6,900)

Hill is a great cash game option for tonight vs the Denver Nuggets who are second worst in the league vs point guards, giving up a staggering 51 points per game. Utah isn't known as a high flying, fast paced offense. But they are going against such a weak defensive team, that they will have the ability to control the game and exploit the favorable match ups. Hill is averaging 32 DraftKings points per game, and gives you the consistency you need for a cash game player.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Karl-Anthony Towns - PF/C, @ PHO ($10,500)

Towns is on a nice hot streak right now, posting two consecutive games of 62 points or more and is in a good spot to continue it tonight. Minnesota is up against the Suns who are giving up 46 DraftKings points per game to power forwards. This is the kind of spot you want to ride with the hot player, who has a favorable match up. Great option for a GPP lineup, as he has a high floor, with some really strong upside. Towns usage rate is 29.2% for the year, which is second highest on the team. With Zach LaVine in a bit of a slump, expect Towns to see more looks on offense.

Markieff Morris - SF/PF, vs BOS ($6,300)

Morris is playing very strong of late, scoring 36 points or more in four of his last five games. He has scored 14 real points or more in 10 straight games. He isn't usually known for his offense prowess, but he is getting it done. His match up vs the Celtics is also very favorable, as Boston is giving up 46 points per game to power forwards. His price has come up a bit over his last few games when he is on this streak, so now is the time to buy in on him before it gets any higher.

Also consider: Gordon Hayward SF, @ DEN ($7,200)

DraftKings DFS Centers

Robin Lopez - C, @ ORL ($4,500)

It's not often I recommend rostering Robin Lopez aka Sideshow Bob look a like. But he is consistent, scoring 22 DraftKings points or more in eight straight games. Now I know those aren't amazing numbers, but he isn't one of the main or even secondary options on offense for the Bulls. He is priced at a level where you don't need that much for him to be worth rostering. His match up vs the Magic is also very favorable as the Magic give up 51 points per game to centers. Very cheap, consistent, and a bit of salary relief for you.

DeAndre Jordan - C, @ PHI ($8,100)

Jordan is really stepping up with the absence of Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. He has scored 54 points or more in three of his last five games. He is just getting it done, whether its scoring, rebounding, or blocking shots, he is putting up points. His match up vs the 76ers is also very favorable, since Philly is giving up 51 points per game to centers. I think he could be used in either cash or GPP lineups, since he has a really solid floor, along with some good upside because of the match up.
