Quarterback Tiered Rankings for 2015 Fantasy Football

What's up RotoBallers. The 2015 fantasy football draft season is upon us, and we've been churning out tons of great fantasy football rankings & analysis throughout the preseason. Throughout this week we'll be releasing our tiered fantasy football rankings. Putting players into tiers is a great strategy to prepare for your drafts, and allows you to easily identify which players to draft when.

Today we're starting with our tiered quarterback rankings for 2015. These staff consensus rankings take the average ranks of our best and brightest analysts, and break the players out into color-coded tiers so you can easily group players to target on draft day. Let's get to it.

Editor's note: Be sure to check out our Who To Draft Tool, a free player comparison tool which can help you make decisions on who to draft. Need to choose between a few players? Not sure who to pick next? Compare any two NFL players and see which is recommended for your drafts.

Quarterback (QB) Rankings Analysis

By Edward Gorelik (@EdwardGorelik)

One of the players I'm much higher on than most experts is Tony Romo. Although not a lot of people understand that a balanced offense is actually far more beneficial to a QBs production because of the way it increases efficiency, losing Murray doesn't affect that balance for me.

The Dallas O-line is a potentially legendary O-line and regardless of who runs behind it (whether committee or lead) that offense will move down the field. Putting Romo behind it in a season where he doesn't have Murray and also has the best protection of his career could result in a huge increase in volume without a huge decrease in efficiency. Romo threw 100 less passes last year than he did in the previous year. The Cowboys also have one of the easier schedules in the league this year.

Eli Manning's hype continues to increase as the weeks go on. Injury ruined the Giants for the second year in a row, but it didn't ruin Eli who had one of his best all time seasons. A healthy group of receivers named Odell Beckham, Victor Cruz, Rueben Randle, Larry Donnell, and Shane Vereen isn't just a good group- it's a potentially dominant group.

Just like the Cowboys, the Giants also run into easy weeks early on in the season. From the Giants bye-week onward, Eli Manning was the 6th highest scoring fantasy QB and It's obvious why, because Odell Beckham quickly came into his own. There's no reason to assume that with a better and healthier supporting cast that Eli Manning does worse.

Then there's Andy Dalton. I'm a lot higher on Andy Dalton than nearly every other analyst and it all has to do with the talent around him. Yes, Dalton had his worst and most disappointing season last year but it's easy to see that it coincided with the injury plagued supporting cast he was dealt.  A.J. Green missed 6 games while Marvin Jones and Tyler Eifert missed the entire season. That's a lot of missing talent and it led to spurts of Mohamed Sanu being the #1 WR and the only capable target on offense.

Dalton still finished 4 spots above where he's commonly drafted (QB23) with the lack of support, and regaining that ultra-talented group should be a huge boost for his value. I won't try to say that Dalton will ever be a top 5 QB again, but a bottom end QB1 season is not out of the picture for a player with this much talent on his offense.
