Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 16:
Jacory Croskey-Merritt, RB, Washington Commanders
JCM looked decisive and explosive against the Giants, who notably have one of the worst run defenses in the league, but it was great to see the rookie deliver for fantasy managers who plugged him into their lineups for the first round of the fantasy playoffs. Croskey-Merritt could potentially work himself back into a more significant timeshare with McNichols and Rodriguez upon his return, creating a messy situation to sort through. He remains worth rostering and would project favorably again on Saturday against the Philadelphia Eagles if Rodriguez is out again on a short week.
Josh Jacobs, RB, Green Bay Packers
He was questionable going into last Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos, but he ultimately played and had a rushing and receiving touchdown. Jacobs is also listed with an ankle injury, but his knee is the more serious ailment. He might not end up practicing much, if at all, this week, but the expectation is that he'll be ready to go on Saturday. Still, Emanuel Wilson isn't a bad speculative waiver-wire pickup in case Jacobs is ruled out. Jacobs has been a must-start RB1 in fantasy all year with 14 total touchdowns in 13 games, but he's literally limping to the finish line.
De'Von Achane, RB, Miami Dolphins
Despite the Dolphins struggling to move the ball all night in the cold weather in Pittsburgh, Achane was still able to manage 127 total yards and deliver another strong performance for fantasy managers. The 24-year-old profiles as one of the best options in all of fantasy for next week's matchup against the porous Cincinnati Bengals defense.
Saquon Barkley, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
Although the 28-year-old wasn't quite as good as he was in the Monday night overtime loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14, he scored a rushing touchdown for the second straight week and had 20-plus carries for the fifth time in 2025. Barkley has had 20-plus rushing attempts in four of six games since the team's bye, as the Eagles make a point to involve last year's leading rusher more to spark their struggling offense. As long as Barkley is active in Week 16, which he should be, he will be a must-start in all fantasy football lineups against a poor Washington defense. UPDATE: Barkley was a full-go at Wednesday's practice.
Nick Chubb, RB, Houston Texans
Head Coach DeMeco Ryans noted on Monday that Marks could have returned to the game if the outcome had been more in doubt, so his absence on Wednesday could be viewed as an abundance of caution. Fantasy managers will need to monitor this somewhat cloudy backfield situation because if any Texans running back enters Sunday's game in a position to handle the bulk of carries, they should be able to convert that into fantasy success, and this includes popular waiver pickup Jawhar Jordan, who just put up 101 yards on 15 carries against the Cardinals. UPDATE: Chubb was limited in his return to practice on Wednesday.
