Charlie Weis Jr. Permitted to Coach Ole Miss Offense in College Football Playoff
Ole Miss announced that Charlie Weis Jr. will act as the team's offensive coordinator during the College Football Playoff, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. The Rebels are not allowing former head coach Lane Kiffin to coach the team, but Weis, who is following Kiffin to LSU, will call plays. Weis has been the team's offensive coordinator since 2021 and has called plays previously for the team. Among SEC teams, Ole Miss ranks first in yards per game (482.1) and passing yards per game (309.6). As long as the College Football Playoff Committee does not punish Ole Miss for losing its head coach, it should host a game in the first round of the CFP in Oxford. This is a great development for breakout quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and company.
