Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 10:
Emari Demercado, RB, Arizona Cardinals
When asked about how the team's backfield split will look in Sunday's road tilt with the Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon declined to give clear insight. "Similar but not the same," said Gannon. "Maybe a little bit different."
It was also noted that he and offensive coordinator Drew Petzing have not discussed which running back will be out there to start the game. Emari Demercado led the team in carries (14) and yards (79) in Week 9. However, it's worth noting that Bam Knight led the duo in snaps (38-27) and was handily out-produced (9/27). As it stands, Gannon could deploy a hot-hand approach, leaving fantasy managers stuck guessing between the two.
For what it's worth, Knight has been the snap-leader since teammate Trey Benson (knee) went down with injury. Hopefully, Week 10's clash with Seattle yields further understanding of the situation.
Isaiah Davis, RB, New York Jets
New York Jets running back Isaiah Davis was one of the bigger losers of the trade deadline. After weeks of speculation that the team might move Breece Hall, the Jets ultimately held onto their starter, keeping him locked in as the clear RB1.
Davis was coming off the best performance of his young career before the bye, totaling 109 scrimmage yards on 12 touches, showing burst and efficiency when given opportunities. However, his path to meaningful volume remains limited with Hall still leading the backfield.
The Jets also face a difficult Week 10 matchup against Cleveland, a defense allowing the second-fewest fantasy points to running backs. Davis currently profiles as a stash-and-hold handcuff rather than a startable option.
Nick Chubb, RB, Houston Texans
Houston Texans running back Nick Chubb (foot) is back at practice on Thursday after missing practice on Wednesday with a foot injury, according to DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN. It's a good sign that Chubb will be able to suit up this Sunday when the team takes on the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars, but the 29-year-old might need to upgrade to a full practice before Friday to avoid taking a questionable tag into the weekend.
Chubb has been pretty lackluster on the ground in his first year with the Texans, and he could be facing more defenders in the box this weekend if he's active, since starting quarterback C.J. Stroud has already been ruled out with a concussion.
Nick Chubb has been Houston's preferred choice on early downs since Joe Mixon (ankle, foot) has yet to play in 2025, and he's run for 355 yards and two touchdowns on 91 carries. If Chubb is limited at all this weekend, rookie Woody Marks would see an expanded workload.
Chris Rodriguez Jr., RB, Washington Commanders
Washington Commanders running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. is primed to take on a bigger workload in Week 10 against the Detroit Lions. Rodriguez was named a team captain for Sunday's matchup, and coming off his best game of the season in Week 9 against the Seahawks, the 25-year-old is poised to see an increased workload.
Rodriguez played 35.5% of the team's snaps in Week 9, which was his highest in a game since Week 4, and handled a season-high 12 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown. The third-year back out of Kentucky is a physical, downhill-style runner who has earned more opportunities with how hard he's run in his limited opportunities.
Rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt has led Washington's backfield in carries this season, but struggled over the past four games, averaging just 3.1 yards per carry. Rodriguez is in line to at least split early-down work with Croskey-Merritt in Week 10 and has the potential to emerge as the team's primary ball-carrier.
Parker Washington, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington led the Jaguars in targets and receptions in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders. He hauled in eight of his nine receptions for 90 yards, with a very solid 26 percent target share.
Travis Hunter (knee) is out for another three games minimum, Brenton Strange (hip, quadriceps) is sidelined, and Brian Thomas Jr. (ankle) is struggling in 2025 and rolled his ankle late in the game on Sunday, and is questionable heading into Week 10. The Jaguars traded for Jakobi Meyers on Tuesday; however, Washington should still receive a majority of the looks on Sunday against the Houston Texans while Meyers adjusts to the new offense.
The unfortunate news is that the Texans are a tough matchup, allowing the fourth fewest points to opposing wide receivers. Derek Stingley Jr. is also one of the top cornerbacks in the game, so it might be tough sledding for the Jaguar pass catcher he guards on Sunday. That said, the targets should be there for Washington, as he's now seen 19 over his last two games, making him a flex option in Week 10 and a must-add off the waiver wire.
