Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 10:
Jacoby Brissett, QB, Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon announced on Tuesday that quarterback Jacoby Brissett will make a fourth straight start under center for the team's Week 10 divisional matchup against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Cardinals will stick with Brissett for another game while Murray heals from a mid-foot sprain that he suffered back in Week 5, but they are taking things week-to-week at the QB position.
Head coach Jonathan Gannon said after Monday night's win over the Dallas Cowboys that Murray is still the team's starter when healthy, but he went back on that statement a day later. The bottom line is that the 32-year-old Brissett has helped improve the offense in his three starts, going 73-for-111 (65.8% completion percentage) with at least two touchdown passes each game.
If he continues to play well, the Cardinals could continue to sit Murray on the bench. Brissett will be a low-end QB2 streamer in Week 10 in fantasy on the road against a tough Seahawks defense.
Marcus Mariota, QB, Commanders
With Jayden Daniels (elbow) expected to miss time following a gruesome Week 9 injury, Marcus Mariota is set to take over as the Washington Commanders' starting quarterback for the foreseeable future. In three starts this season, the veteran has completed 52 of 78 passes (66.7%) for 576 yards, throwing four touchdowns and three interceptions, while adding 102 rushing yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.
Mariota draws a favorable Week 10 matchup against the Detroit Lions, who have allowed the 10th-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season. With his dual-threat ability and favorable matchup, Mariota profiles as a low-end QB2 for Week 10, and potentially beyond if Daniels remains sidelined.
Davis Mills, QB, Texans
Houston Texans quarterback Davis Mills will get the start this weekend for his team's home meeting with the Jacksonville Jaguars while teammate C.J. Stroud (concussion) recovers from injury. Stroud left Week 9's loss to the Denver Broncos with a concussion and has already been ruled out for Sunday's clash with Jacksonville.
Houston's offense will take a hit sans Stroud, but the Jaguars are a beatable matchup in the passing game. Through nine weeks, the unit has yielded the sixth-most passing yards per game (249.3) and allowed a bottom-half figure in points (23). It wouldn't be surprising to see the Texans lean on the ground game more often in this one, leaving Mills better-suited as an asset in super flex/2QB formats.
Justin Fields, QB, Jets
When asked whether he expects to play on Sunday in Week 10 against the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields said, "We'll see," according to Rich Cimini of ESPN. The Jets were leaning toward starting veteran Tyrod Taylor in their Week 8 win over the Cincinnati Bengals before he came down with a knee injury that sidelined him.
Even though Fields looked good in the comeback victory over Cincinnati, the Jets remain undecided on who to start under center this weekend against the Cleveland Browns as they come off their bye week. Head coach Aaron Glenn is probably going to play it close to the vest, so we may not know who is starting at QB for Gang Green until this weekend.
The matchup is not fantasy-friendly, but Fields has much more fantasy upside because of his rushing ability outside of the pocket.
