The Seattle Seahawks are acquiring wide receiver Rashid Shaheed from the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday, sources tell Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. It's unknown what the Saints are receiving as compensation from the Seahawks. Jaxon Smith-Njigba has been one of the best receivers in the NFL for the Seahawks so far in his second NFL season, but now Seattle will have a legitimate deep threat for rising quarterback Sam Darnold as they push to become a real Super Bowl contender in the second half of the season. Shaheed, 27, had 44 catches on 66 targets for 499 yards and two touchdowns over nine games in New Orleans while working mostly with QB Spencer Rattler. In Seattle, he should have a more stable floor and a higher ceiling in fantasy football in a passing offense that is humming right now. The addition of Shaheed will be bad news for rookie receiver Tory Horton, who caught two touchdowns in the Sunday night win over the Washington Commanders. UPDATE: The Seahawks are sending fourth- and fifth-round draft picks in 2026 to the Saints.--Keith Hernandez
