Fantasy Football Trade Outlooks

Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider trading for or trading away heading into Week 9:

Michael Pittman Jr, WR, Colts
Trade Value: 44.8
ROS Rank: 5o

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. continued his strong start to the season in a 38-14 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 8. Pittman caught eight of his nine targets for 95 yards and a touchdown in the win, setting season highs in catches and receiving yards along the way.

The veteran wideout has been a dominant red-zone target this season, catching six touchdowns in eight games for the Colts. Overall, Pittman has caught 43 passes for 446 yards while operating as the team's No. 1 receiver.

Michael Pittman Jr. will remain a rock-solid WR2 heading into a Week 9 road matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Verdict: Ranked WR10 in PPR through Week 8; he's a very expensive buy candidate

Kyle Pitts Sr., TE, Falcons
Trade Value: 20.6
ROS Rank: 104

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has not had the season that fantasy managers expected in 2025, and it may be some time before he turns it around. When fantasy managers selected the former Alabama Crimson Tide, it was with a top 75 pick, and with the hopes that he would build off his stellar run to close out 2024.

However, that hasn't been the case, as Jeudy has already been through two quarterbacks while Cleveland is scoring a paltry 15.8 points per game -- the third-lowest mark in the league. Unfortunately for the sixth-year pro, rookie QB Dillon Gabriel has had a rough go, meaning it may not be long before we see fellow first-year signal-caller Shedeur Sanders manning the helm.

Cleveland's shuffling at the quarterback position has lowered both Jeudy's floor and ceiling. He's currently the PPR WR66, and not worth consideration for fantasy.

Verdict: Buy low if you can, but it may be harder than you think, considering he's currently TE10

Jerome Ford, RB, Browns
Trade Value: N/A
ROS Rank: N/A

Cleveland Browns beat writer Brad Stainbrook speculates that veteran running back Jerome Ford should be one of the players that Cleveland explores moving at the upcoming trade deadline. The 2-6 Browns appear to be in sell mode as they hit their Week 9 bye.

Ford is in the final year of his rookie contract with the team and has recorded 149 scrimmage yards on 42 total touches across eight games this season. Furthermore, Cleveland has a pair of exciting rookie running backs in Quinshon Judkins (shoulder) and Dylan Sampson, so Ford is unlikely to factor in the organization's long-term plans.

If Ford is traded on or before the November 4 trade deadline, Sampson would likely become the full-time passing-downs back in Cleveland. If the shoulder injury that Judkins suffered in Week 8 causes him to miss time, Sampson could be the Browns' RB1 in Week 10 against the New York Jets.

Verdict: Avoid in all leagues, even though he's still Quinshon Judkins' top handcuff for now

Chimere Dike, WR, Titans
Trade Value: 11
ROS Rank: 151

Tennessee Titans rookie wide receiver Chimere Dike is coming off his best game of the season in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts, catching seven of eight targets for 93 yards.

Dike has taken advantage of his opportunities, and that's been acknowledged by the team's offensive coordinator, Nick Holz, who said that he's "going to be a really good player in this league." The 23-year-old played a season high 88.1% of snaps and had an 86% route share, only trailing fellow rookie Elic Ayomanor.

The fourth rounder out of Florida has elite 4.34 speed with the ability to win downfield and be a threat with the ball in his hands. With Tyler Lockett now with the Raiders and Calvin Ridley battling a hamstring injury, Dike could emerge as the team's top receiving option over the second half of the season.

Verdict: Don't overpay for a one-hit-wonder that is tethered to a subpar offense and a rookie QB

Who Should I Trade For?

Week 9 Trade Decisions. Today's focus is on specific players - Rachaad White, Michael Pittman Jr., Kyle Pitts Sr., Hunter Henry, Romeo Doubs, Chimere Dike, Jerome Ford. These are some key fantasy football names heading into this week's matchups.

Using The Trade Values. This is a simple trade value tool, but very powerful. In our fantasy football trade value rankings above, you will see the Trade Value for each player. The higher the number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Players with a high trade value number are players that you should be targeting more in trades.

How It Works. Each week, our RotoBaller staff puts together their weekly fantasy football rankings, projections, and trade values based on their research. That information is the core data that is powering the decision-making in this trade value rankings.

How To Calculate Trades. Fantasy football managers will make 1-for-1 trades, or 2-for-3 trades, or 3-for-2 trades, or many other combinations. For each side of the deal, add the trade values together. Whichever side has a higher total number wins the trade. For example, if someone is offering you three players, add the trade values of those three players together. Does the value of those three players exceed the values of the player(s) you are trading away? If so then it's a good deal for you.
