Should I pickup Pickup Jaylin Lane or Chris Moore as fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Week 8 of 2025? Read our fantasy football waiver wire outlooks.
The Washington Commanders played in their Week 7 game without their top-2 wide receivers, Terry McLaurin (quad) and Deebo Samuel Sr. (heel), and the results were predictable -- they lost the game. Pretty badly, at that.
But even losing teams can produce fantasy-relevant wide receivers that you can snag off waivers if the team's top options are injured. In place of McLaurin and Samuel, WRs Jaylin Lane and Chris Moore were set to have expanded roles.
The Commanders will play the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8. Both teams have had good offenses to this point, meaning the potential for a high-scoring game is certainly there. But should you grab Lane or Moore off the waiver wire now?

Jaylin Lane Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook
Lane led Washington in receiving yards in Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, catching three of his six targets for 60 yards. That should really tell you all you need to know -- despite the fact that the Cowboys have one of the worst defenses in the NFL, there really wasn't much the Commanders could do against them.

Lane has looked pretty solid in limited action so far, but he just hasn't gotten a lot of playing time. When McLaurin and Samuel have been active, he's a distant third in usage to those two. Even with Scary Terry missing the last few games, in games where Samuel played, Lane caught just four passes over three weeks.
He's a rookie that has shown flashes of potential, but he's fourth in the priority list of targets for Commanders quarterbacks, because tight end Zach Ertz is still pretty well-involved. Lane is more of a speculative stash in deeper leagues, where he's probably already rostered.
Chris Moore Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook
After catching three passes for 40 yards and a touchdown in Week 6, Moore played a significantly higher snap share in Week 7 due to Samuel missing that contest. He was targeted five times, yet caught only two passes for 59 yards.
Moore is simply a replacement player for when the team doesn't have its top receivers healthy. He saw just three targets across his first three games, and McLaurin didn't even play the full third contest, which likely contributed to more playing time.

Moore is at least good enough to be on a team's 53-man roster for now, but that doesn't make him very valuable in fantasy.
Should I Pickup Jaylin Lane or Chris Moore For Fantasy Football?
Moore.. probably not. Lane, however, is a nice stash in deep leagues, but is probably already rostered in deep dynasty leagues. However, if he's available in your dynasty league, it's worth picking him up. He could eventually have consistent playing time in Washington.
Both Samuel and McLaurin logged full practices on Thursday. It seems that they're both set to return for Week 8, which means that both Lane and Moore are unlikely to get much work. We could see Moore completely blanked, or held to just one or two catches.

It seems that the extra time for Samuel has helped him get healthy, and McLaurin is finally overcoming the injury that's kept him away for four games. The passing game will run through them. With quarterback Jayden Daniels (hamstring) not in play for Week 8 due to a hamstring issue, Marcus Mariota, his backup, will play.
The offense hasn't been that much worse with him in the lineup, but there's plenty of added risk that he could have a dud game.
