Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 4:
Brian Thomas Jr., WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
It has been a disappointing start for Brian Thomas Jr. With just seven catches for 115 yards, it might be hard to rely on him in Week 4. However, he'll be a WR2 against a 49ers defense that allowed at least six catches to outside WRs in two of three games.
The second-year wide receiver will likely be matched up against Renardo Green on the outside for most of the game, which works in his favor. Green ranks fifth in yards per reception allowed, making this an easily exploitable matchup, but fantasy managers will be wary as they search for Brian Thomas Jr.'s first breakout game of the 2025 season.
Quentin Johnston, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston is set for a big Week 4 performance against the New York Giants. The former first-round pick led the team with 89 receiving yards on six catches and 10 targets last week against a tough Denver Broncos secondary.
He currently leads the team in receiving yards and is tied with Keenan Allen for most touchdowns (3). The Giants' secondary ranks among the worst in the NFL, especially in allowing big plays, which plays to Johnston's strengths.
RotoBaller's Week 4 rankings elevate him to WR34 this week, and he should be viewed as a high-upside FLEX option in most formats. Quentin Johnston remains a must-start option until further notice.
Jakobi Meyers, WR, Las Vegas Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers has been a steady force in the passing attack, leading the team with 26 targets through three weeks. He added another efficient outing in Week 3, posting three catches for 63 yards against Washington, bringing his season totals to 17 receptions for 228 yards.
With the Raiders ranking seventh in passing yards per game and Geno Smith finding his rhythm, Meyers has established himself as a trusted option in the offense.
He'll be heading into Week 4 to face a vulnerable Chicago Bears secondary, he should be confidently started as a WR2 across all fantasy formats in what projects to be a high-scoring matchup.
Michael Pittman Jr., WR, Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. has emerged as the favorite target of new quarterback Daniel Jones through the first three weeks of the season. Pittman has been excellent thus far, catching 16 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns, easily pacing the Colts in all three categories.
The veteran wideout will look to keep it going in a Week 4 road matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams have been decent against wideouts this season, allowing the 14th-most fantasy points per game to the position.
Michael Pittman Jr. should remain the focal point of the Indy offense as they look to improve to 4-0 on the year. He sets up as a high-end WR3/flex option in Week 4.
DeVonta Smith, WR, Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith recorded his first touchdown and his best fantasy outing so far this season against the Rams, and will try to string together a second strong game in a row as he faces Tampa Bay in Week 4.
Philly's WRs did exactly as they're expected last Sunday, with A.J. Brown leading the way and Smith following closely behind with similarly solid numbers. Now managers just have to see if this wideout duo can continue to not just coexist, but thrive next to one another.
So far this season, the Buccaneers have not allowed two receivers to have nine or more targets in the same game like Brown and Smith accomplished against Los Angeles. It's a shaky matchup against a good defense, but Smith has finally earned some fantasy trust and should be considered a high-end WR3 this week.
