Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 4:
Khalil Shakir, WR, Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir caught six of his nine targets in the narrow Week 1 win over the Baltimore Ravens. While the volume was there, he would have only 64 yards to show for it. He fizzled in Week 2 versus the New York Jets, amassing only one grab for 12 yards.
The 25-year-old had just four receptions for 45 yards in the AFC East clash with the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night. However, he at least scored a touchdown off a 15-yard throw from Josh Allen near the end of the contest. With three weeks in the books, fantasy managers have their concerns about Shakir's potential moving ahead.
Although there will likely be more trips to the end zone in his future, there's a good chance Allen will continue to spread the ball around throughout the remainder of the 2025 campaign, with Keon Coleman, Dalton Kincaid, and James Cook routinely in the hunt for targets. With that in mind, Shakir can still be considered a starting fantasy option in Week 4 against the Saints, as long as managers are willing to accept the risk involved.
Tyreek Hill, WR, Miami Dolphins
NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe said, based on people he's talked to, that a trade of Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill is not a "consideration at this stage." There have been rumors floating around early this year that the Cheetah is a prime trade candidate, especially if the Dolphins continue to flounder.
The 31-year-old eight-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro bounced back in a Week 2 loss to the New England Patriots with a 100-yard effort on six catches, but this is the first time in his career in which he has not found the end zone in the first two weeks. Hill expressed a desire to be elsewhere after the Week 18 regular-season finale in 2024, which alienated him a bit with his teammates.
His chemistry with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is a work in progress, and the two have struggled to hook up for big gains down the field in the last year-plus. Hill's performance in Week 2 was a good sign, but it remains to be seen if that will continue if he stays in Miami.
Xavier Worthy, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy (shoulder) was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, a good sign that he will be able to return on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports.
The Kansas City Star's Pete Sweeney reports that the Chiefs are growing optimistic that Worthy will be able to return this weekend after dislocating his shoulder in the season-opening loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. "We'll just evaluate him," head coach Andy Reid said Wednesday. "(We'll) take it day by day, but he feels good, so we'll see." Worthy has already had five limited practices since returning on Sept. 11, but he missed both Weeks 2 and 3.
However, if Worthy is active this Sunday, he'll likely be on a limited snap count, making him a pretty dicey fantasy option in an offense that has not looked right through three weeks.
Zay Flowers, WR, Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers was limited to only two catches for 13 yards on three targets on Monday Night Football, as his team lost 38-30 to slip to 1-2 on the season. Flowers was locked down by Lions cornerback D.J. Reed, and he didn't even have a catch until the second half.
Flowers was coming off a hot start to the season with seven catches for 143 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 and seven catches for 75 yards and a touchdown in Week 2. In Week 3, though, he was much less involved as the targets went mostly to Rashod Bateman (7) and Mark Andrews (6) instead of the dynamic third-year receiver from Boston College.
The Ravens will need to find a way for him to be more involved next week as they head on the road to take on the Chiefs in a huge AFC showdown.
Josh Downs, WR, Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs was quiet in his team's 41-20 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 3. Downs caught just two of his three targets for 34 yards to finish fourth on the team in receiving.
Through three weeks with Daniel Jones under center, Downs appears to have taken a backseat to Michael Pittman Jr. as the No. 1 receiver in the Indy passing attack.
The veteran slot receiver will look to bounce back in Week 4's road matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, but he's settling in as a WR5 in fantasy after a pedestrian start to the season.
