MLB DFS Picks Today: Daily Fantasy Baseball Strategy and Tips For FanDuel, DraftKings (9/6/25)

Hurston Waldrep - Fantasy Baseball Prospects, Draft Sleepers, MLB Rookie Rankings

Zach's top DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks for today, Saturday, 9/6/25. His favorite daily fantasy baseball lineup sleepers and value picks for DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! After a few afternoon contests, most of the action from Major League Baseball is under the lights this Saturday night, providing DFS fantasy baseball managers with a very solid nine-game slate to attack. With 18 teams in the player poll, strong options are available at a wide variety of positions and price points, allowing multiple paths to success and strategies to consider as you build your roster. Both DraftKings and FanDuel have solid prize pools in play, so let's dive into this nine-game slate and look at some options that stand out.

One factor to always monitor is the weather, and this Saturday is no exception. The forecast in Tampa and Baltimore is a little iffy with rain in the mix, but the rest of the night looks clear. One of the best pitching matchups on the board is in the Texas-sized rivalry between the Astros and Rangers as Jacob deGrom and Hunter Brown go head-to-head. From an offensive perspective, Coors Field is in the mix, so the Padres and Rockies have the advantage of hitting at elevation, giving them the two highest implied run totals on the board despite Friday night's low-scoring game in Denver. Let's dive into this huge slate and pick out some top options from different spots on the salary spectrum.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 9/6/2025, with the slate starting at 7:05 P.M. EST. The lineup picks will showcase elite players, mid-priced options, and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is always essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Hurston Waldrep, ATL vs. SEA ($9.7K DK/$9.8 FD)

One of the few bright spots in the Braves' disappointing season has been Hurston Waldrep emerging as a legitimate contributor in the rotation. Waldrep joined the rotation in early August to finish the Speedway Classic and has been outstanding in his six games, compiling a 1.01 ERA, 2.66 FIP, 1.01 WHIP, and 33 strikeouts in 35 2/3 innings.

Waldrep has averaged 22.0 DraftKings points and 38.33 FanDuel points per start, and the Braves have gotten the win in every one of his appearances. He has at least six strikeouts in four of his last five games, with a strange, zero-strikeout outlier against the Marlins. He bounced back from that with nine strikeouts in a great start against the Phillies last Sunday night, and he'll look to build on that momentum in this outing against Seattle.

The Mariners are just 1-6 on their current road trip, as their Wild Card lead continues to shrink. As a team, they're hitting only .237 over the last month, the third lowest mark in the majors. They also have the fifth-highest K% in the majors over the last month, setting Waldrep up for potentially a big strikeout night.

Shane Baz, TB vs. CLE ($7.5K DK/$8.5K FD)

The Rays' seven-game winning streak came to an end on Friday night against the Guardians, but they'll give the ball to Shane Baz on Saturday if the weather cooperates. Baz has been inconsistent this year, but he has also shown a high ceiling. This season, he has a 4.98 ERA, 4.57 FIP, and 156 strikeouts in 150 innings. He has struggled with giving up home runs and has had a few very lopsided outings that have driven up his overall numbers. After getting crushed by the Yankees for five home runs in just three innings, he bounced back with strong outings against the Guardians and Mariners.

He faced Cleveland on the road two starts ago and allowed three runs in six innings with seven strikeouts. He was even sharper in his last outing, allowing just five hits in six shutout innings against the Mariners, picking up six strikeouts and earning his ninth win of the season along with 25.3 DraftKings points and 46 FanDuel points.

The young righty's strikeout ceiling is what makes him the top bargain play of the night, and he gets a good matchup against the Guardians, who are hitting just .199 as a team over the last month, with a 65 wRC+ and a league-low 3.6 runs per game. The Guardians did break out for seven runs on Friday, but Baz will try to stop that from becoming a trend by shutting them down on Saturday night. Double-check the forecast, but if the rain cooperates, Baz should be in a favorable spot to return value.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Rafael Devers, 1B on DK, 1B/3B on FD - SF ($5.4K DK/$3.9K FD)

Devers hit another dinger on Friday night and has been absolutely locked in at the plate over his last nine games, going 16-for-37 (.432) with six home runs and 15 RBI. He has 31 homers on the year, and 14 of those have come since the All-Star break, while he has posted a .396 wOBA.

On Saturday, he takes on the Cardinals' Andre Pallante in a great spot for stacking (see below). Devers and the Giants have surged back into the edges of the NL Wild Card race after winning 11 of their last 12 games, including five in a row. Devers has been a streaky performer throughout his career, and he definitely looks dialed in right now for the Giants.

Jeremiah Jackson, 3B/OF on DK, SS on FD, BAL ($3.4K DK/$2.9K FD)

The Orioles have slotted Jackson in as the second hitter in their order for the last few weeks, and the 25-year-old righty has quickly established himself as one of the team's most consistent young hitters. He's still extremely affordable despite his prime lineup spot and excellent form.

Over his last 21 games, Jackson has gone 29-for-85 (.341) with four doubles, a triple, four home runs, 14 runs scored, and 16 RBI. He had three homers in his last six games and is showing off a little of the power he showcased at Triple-A, where he had 11 homers in 40 games before his promotion. Jackson has a tougher matchup against Yamamoto and the Dodgers on Saturday night, but he is a great value play given his key role in the Orioles' lineup as he continues to stake his claim to a regular role in the future.

Darell Hernaiz, 2B/3B on DK, 3B/SS on FD - ATH ($2.5K DK/$2.5K FD)

If you're looking for a value play in the infield on Saturday night, Hernaiz is one of my favorite options on the board. The 24-year-old righty brings some positional flexibility and has had good success in his limited sample size against southpaws. Hernaiz had two hits and his second stolen base of the season on Friday night against the Angels, and he is hitting a solid .272 over his last 18 contests.

Hernaiz has reached base multiple times in three of his last four games and is hitting .333 (8-for-24) against lefties this season, including a triple and a home run. He'll be in a good spot to bring value against Yusei Kikuchi and the Angels in Anaheim, and he can be a nice salary-saver that allows you to stack up sluggers in other spots.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Ramon Laureano, OF - SD ($5.5K DK/$3.5K FD)

With the Padres at Coors Field, I'm coming back to Laureano for a second straight day since he's been so hot since joining the Padres, and he is in another good matchup this Saturday against McCade Brown (more below in stacks). Laureano went 1-for-3 with a double on Friday night in the series opener, when the Padres were shut out by Kyle Freeland and the Rockies. He extended his hitting streak to six games with the base hit and is hitting .322 in his 32 games since arriving in San Diego from the Orioles at the trade deadline.

Laureano has five doubles, seven home runs, 24 RBI, and even two stolen bases since joining the Padres, and he has been hitting the ball very well while climbing into a spot in the heart of the batting order. Whether you go with a full Padres stack or just usse Laueano as an independent option, he brings very good upside at Coors Field Saturday night.

Brent Rooker, OF - ATH ($4.8K DK/$3.5K FD)

Rooker has quietly put together another strong season as the anchor in the Athletics lineup. He's hitting .270 for the year with 27 homers and 81 RBI. He's hitting .324 with five homers and a .419 wOBA against lefties on the year, so getting him in this matchup with Kikuchi is a play that makes a lot of sense.

Rooker has hit safely in six of his last nine games, going 11-for-34 (.324) with a home run, a stolen base, and seven RBI. He brings very good upside at this mid-range salary, given how effective he has been in his splits against southpaws this year and his building momentum coming into this favorable spot.

Drew Gilbert, OF - SF ($3.1K DK/$2.8K FD)

The Giants have given Drew Gilbert some playing time over the last few weeks and the 24-year-old first-round pick is producing solid numbers at a bargain salary. He went 1-for-3 with a walk on Friday to improve to 14-for-53 (.264) on the season and 11-for-25 (.440) over his last 10 games. Gilbert has hit safely in each of his last five games with multiple at-bats, earning over 15 DraftKings points in four of those five games.

The Giants acquired Gilbert from the Mets as part of the Tyler Rogers trade, and he went 7-for-14 (.500) with two triples and two stolen bases in five games in Triple-A before his promotion. For the Mets before the trade, he hit .243 in Syracuse with 12 homers and a .350 wOBA. While he may not be able to keep up his torrid pace from the last few games and his long-term potential is uncertain, he definitely has enough momentum to be a good bargain option against Pallante on Saturday.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. San Francisco Giants at St. Louis Cardinals (Andre Pallante)

The Giants' offense struggled for much of the season but has caught fire over the last few weeks. They have scored at least seven runs in five straight games and have averaged 7.8 runs per game over their last 12 contests. After taking the series opener 8-2 in St. Louis, they'll face Pallante, who has a 5.91 home ERA and has allowed 48 runs in 49 2/3 innings over his last 10 starts.

Favorite Combo: Devers, Adames, Ramos, Gilbert

2. San Diego Padres at Colorado Rockies (McCade Brown)

The Padres whiffed on Friday night at Coors Field but are in a great bounce-back spot against Brown. Brown made the jump all the way from Double-A to the majors and has gone 0-2 in two starts, allowing seven runs on 10 hits in 7 2/3 innings. He had good numbers at Double-A, but the 25-year-old righty hasn't looked ready for the majors yet. He has let righties go 6-for-16 (.375) against him with a home run and a .432 wOBa in his small sample size in the majors.

Favorite Combo: Laureano, Tatis, Manny Machado, Jose Iglesias
