Payton Eeles Goes Deep on Wednesday
Minnesota Twins infield prospect Payton Eeles went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in an 8-3 win against Triple-A Omaha. Eeles, who stands at 5'5", isn't known for his power as it's just his third long ball of the year. He makes a ton of contact and has gotten on base at a high rate throughout his minor league career. For the season, he is hitting .285/.382/.365 with 22 stolen bases in 244 plate appearances at Triple-A. He has made starts at several different positions defensively, including everywhere in the infield except first base and every outfield spot. His versatility as a defender and ability to get on base could earn him a role with the big league club this season, or most likely next season.
