Alejandro Kirk Goes on Concussion Injured List
Alejandro Kirk (concussion) on the seven-day concussion injured list on Sunday recalled catcher Ali Sanchez from the minor leagues in a corresponding move, according to Keegan Matheson of MLB.com. Tyler Heineman is behind the plate in the series finale against the Detroit Tigers and will take over as Toronto's primary catcher while Kirk tends to his head injury. The 26-year-old Kirk suffered a concussion after taking a foul tip to the mask during Saturday's win in Motown, and he will miss at least the next week. Fantasy managers may want to expect a longer absence, as concussions can be difficult to return from. The two-time All-Star doesn't have amazing power (seven homers in 88 games), but he's hitting over .300 on the year and has an above average .775 OPS in his 346 trips to the plate in his sixth big-league season.
