Corbin Carroll to Take Dry Swings on Tuesday
Corbin Carroll (wrist) will start taking dry swings on Tuesday, according to manager Torey Lovullo. Carroll was placed on the 10-day injured list on June 24 with a chip fracture in his left wrist. While it's a good sign that he's already going to start swinging a bat this week, the 24-year-old former National League Rookie of the Year still has a ways to go and isn't going to be ready to rejoin the big-league roster when the second half of the season kicks off on July 18. The former first-rounder should be stashed in an IL spot in all fantasy leagues as one of the best all-around fantasy assets in the game. Before his injury, he was slashing .255/.341/.573 with a .914 OPS, 20 home runs, 44 RBI, 57 runs and 10 steals in 286 at-bats. Randal Grichuk and Jake McCarthy will platoon in right field in the desert until Carroll returns.
