The Texas Rangers have placed right-handed pitcher Tyler Mahle (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list prior to their contest on Sunday due to right shoulder soreness. In a corresponding move, the Rangers are promoting right-handed pitcher Kumar Rocker from Triple-A. Rocker will get the starting nod this afternoon as well. On Saturday, the team announced that the veteran was dealing with soreness and would likely hit the IL. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status while he remains out of action. The 30-year-old has enjoyed an impressive start to the season, posting a 2.34 ERA with a 1.13 WHIP across 77 innings of work. During this stretch, he has only tallied 56 punchouts and held an 8.8% walk rate. While he remains out, Rocker should see several opportunities in the rotation.--Andy Smith
