Spencer Schwellenbach Strikes Out Nine in Complete Game
Spencer Schwellenbach threw the first complete game of his career and earned the win in a 6-2 win against the Brewers on Wednesday. He allowed two runs on five hits while striking out nine over the nine frames. He has only pitched less than six innings in a start two times all season, and four of his past six outings have been at least seven innings. Not only has he been extremely efficient, but he also has excelled at missing bats, with two 11-strikeout performances in that same span. The youngster is giving Chris Sale a run for his money as the best pitcher on that staff, and he'll carry a 3.11 ERA and 1.00 WHIP into his next start against the Mets.
