Miguel Andujar Lands on 10-Day Injured List With Oblique Strain
Miguel Andujar (oblique) on the 10-day injured list with a strained right oblique and recalled outfielder JJ Bleday from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move. Given the nature of oblique injuries, there's no guarantee that Andujar will be able to return from the IL when he's eligible. The 30-year-old veteran has played both left field and third base for the A's this year and has hit just under .300 in 180 plate appearances, however, it's come with limited counting stats in three home runs, 20 RBI, 19 runs scored and one stolen base in 46 games played. With Andujar out a while, Bleday should see everyday playing time with rookie outfielder Denzel Clarke struggling at the plate in his first taste of big-league pitching. Drew Avans is starting in left field on Monday, while CJ Alexander is at the hot corner for the A's.
