Blake Snell Hoping to Throw a Bullpen Next Week
Blake Snell (shoulder) said the plan is to get back on a mound to throw a bullpen session next week in San Diego during a series against the division-rival Padres. Snell only made two starts in his first season with the Dodgers before landing on the injured list with a shoulder injury, and he hasn't thrown off a mound since suffering a setback with his left shoulder in late April. The good news is the 32-year-old two-time Cy Young winner doesn't have any structural damage and continues to ramp up. There's no clear timetable for Snell's return to L.A.'s starting rotation, but it wouldn't be a surprise if we don't see him until after the All-Star break in mid-July. Snell allowed only two earned runs in his two starts earlier this year but walked eight and struck out four in nine innings. Despite injury issues the last two years, Snell should be stashed in all fantasy leagues.
