Jazz Chisholm Jr. Could Start Rehab Assignment This Week
Jazz Chisholm Jr. (oblique) hit against velocity over the weekend of May 23-25 and could face live pitching and/or go on a minor-league rehab assignment this week, according to MLB.com. Chisholm suffered a strained right oblique almost four weeks ago but could return in early June as long as he doesn't suffer a setback with his oblique during his rehab assignment. When Chisholm returns to the Bronx, he should settle back into his starting role at the keystone, which will likely shift veteran DJ LeMahieu to third base. The 27-year-old native of the Bahamas was hitting a weak .181 (19-for-105) before going on the injured list, but he also had seven home runs, 17 RBI, 17 runs and six stolen bases in 30 games. Chisholm's power/speed combination in a strong Yankees lineup makes him worth stashing in all fantasy leagues.
